Partwork
models is a market that is developing both in subject matter and
quality. Some of the earlier partworks were not the best models in
the world, but the ones I have built recently have been pretty good.
The subjects have covered sailing ships, war ships, trains, aircraft
and several radio controlled model cars.
I have
built several partworks over the years, and I'm sure some will know
me from my web sites that have covered the Titanic, the Red baron's
Fokker Triplane and currently the Bismarck. I am now aiming to
develop this web site into a central resource that will bring
together and help part work model builders of all the current
partworks, globally.
If
you're looking for help building your partwork model, you've found
the right place. The individual sites where I build the
partworks provide a lot of helpful information, tips, how to correct
mistakes and improve the models. If I'm not building the
partwork you're building, don't despair. The forum is full of
experienced modellers, and somebody is likely to be able to help
you. We can help with non-part work models as well. The
forum will be the central area for discussion between builders.
From my previous experiences with forums, I've found that modellers
are the best people to help modellers. So I'm pleased to help bring
people together to help each other. I've built a model or two in my
time and can help with many problems, but there are people out there
who are far better than me, and people with different ideas. The
forum can help share the vast wealth of experience. I would encourage
people to join the forum, it will be a great resource.

The
Tiger Tank
Hachette
are offering us a 1/16 scale Tiger Tank. The model is made
mainly from cast metal for the armour, Interior details are plastic
and fine details are etched brass. The tracks are individual
metal links. This is going to be a fantastic model, and judging
by the initial response on the forum, it's going to be very
popular. It's already been released in Germany, so a quick hunt
round the German model forums (see the links page on my web site)
will give you a sneak preview.
