Ive been updating my blog and at last YouTube has all the HMS Hood footage, previously it was all on the pathe site and pretty rough quality.

Everything compiled on the blog, loads of footage, as I said..enough for a DVD:)

There has to be a thanks to Pathe for adding all this footage onto Youtube, enjoy .

Great stuff. My Grandfather and uncle were both cameramen for Pathe. I wonder if they shot any of the footage?

Probably not. My cousin (yet another cameraman) might have something that was left to him, but there's very little left from my grandfather and I don't think cameramen were credited on the newsreels.

My father proposed to my mother on the bridge of HMS Hood just prior to the second world war whilst the Hood was in Portsmouth.
