was going to go for light blue and cream but i had black in a spray can at hand.
Have used good old masking tape for masking off as i don't have frog tape so not expecting a great edge to the cream. I am also brushing on the cream as i don't have an airbrush so the finish wont be perfect but thats ok :)

thin undercoat of matt cream before the top coats.
The trouble as we know with brushing paint on is you can over do it and end up in a right mess with all the detailing covered. So i shall do thin coats of slightly thinned cream and see how it comes out.
radiator has been fitted and the front bumper is nearly dry then that can be fitted as well.
As i said earlyer in the thread my floor has a slight twist in it so not sure how it will look when finished, at the moment its sitting on three wheels

It will look normal for an Airfix kit, warped parts are a standard feature of the old kits. :angry-banghead:
But try a soak in hot water (washing up hot not cup of tea hot) and a gentle twist in the opposite direction while the plastic cools.
Had to do that to the Tiger Moth Struts
Paint works looking good to!

Hi Casp,

I saw the TR4 starter kit today - I was almost tempted, but that decided as I think the finish date is 15th Jan (?) it would be too soon for me

Hi Casp,

From Argos, they're only available to buy on-line and not in store etc...... when they're back in stock!

NB - you can get them to notify you by e-mail, when they are back in stock.

The one I saw was in my local model shop @ £9.99

I hope the above helps :)

managed to fix the body to the base last night, it was tricky as i had to glue one side first and let it dry before glueing the other to take the bad twist out of the base. Came out ok to my surprise and i now have four wheels touching the ground rather than two. :D
After about four thin coats of cream on top of a thin base coat i am sort of happy with the result but it would have taken far less effort and time and looked better if an airbrush or rattle can was used, never mind i got there in the end. :)
Have to paint the bumper cream and chrome on the rear and fix the windows in place. Lots of little bits to finish off now and i also need to make a folded roof for the back. oh and fix the steering wheel in place.
