Hi mate,
I've got the full kit of this, I've started it and this far the wooden frames and planks are just as good as any other model of this type (the instructions don't make it very easy though!) The castings however as Mark has said are a little crude and need a pot of cleaning/ re shaping to fit properly!

inbthe other hand, the etched brass detail sheets seem to be of unusually good quality compared to the rest of the model which should hopefully give the model a good finish! We'll have to see how detailed the final model is but if it's not that good there's plenty of aftermarket detail up packs to go with the trumpeter 1:250 Yamato to get the desired result! It'll probably be a while before I get round to building mine again so I'll be interested in following your build!
