1848 Stage Coach

Here's a little section of anybody who manages to find a really odd ball model that doesn't fit into any of the other catergories.

Pull bar, the end had to be sanded down to this shape.

This is the start of the front axle unit for steering.
Image

The main unit is made up from four pieces of wood which again has been painted yellow on the side, will update once the paint has dried.

There is also the brass piece which get added once dry, the strange shape piece is for the draw bar and had to be shaped by hand and also the other brass bits where cut from 4mm wide stripes and then shaped.

The two square pieces have had there ends soldered, the instruction say to leave as they are or paint black but I'm thinking off tarnishing them to look old.

Next was to make upper the lower and upper axle parts.

Image

In the lower axle part I had to cut out the sections to allow the rest of the unit to sit into the axle.

You get a much better idea of scale now Ian and she's a lot bigger than I thought. Very neat work and the brass looks great  I like the yellow as well it goes perfectly with the wood.
