DIY Quadcopter

Here's a little section of anybody who manages to find a really odd ball model that doesn't fit into any of the other catergories.

Just seen the last episode and it showed the Quad copter. or should I say the six prop beast :o

They used it to scout down stream for a crossing point.

morrigan, while watching all your airfleet pieces I started looking what's around and came across the following:
a four blade avatar style heli - the one with two blades counter-rotating on each side + rear rotor (there are also almost standard looking two rotor helis which just mimic the avatar thingy...) -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=en ... boLSBqhJV4
what's your opinion about that one??

and sorry but this is fun as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6STlxPr ... =fvwp&NR=1

Yup you name it , built it with foam , add a powerful enough brushless motor and it will fly! I seen starships, witches on brooms, xmas trees, 'paper' darts, trucks and a f1 car fly to name few, also check out best of RingebuRC 2012 on youtube -be warned it may be an inflatable toy they made fly, buts its not a toy for the kids!!! so I won't post the link , also be warned that their channel is rather addictive.

THe Avatar heli, looks good, coaxial rotors for stability - tick, it uses 2.4ghz - tick, four channels - tick and has spare parts available - big tick :D
MY only concern is how robust those lovely scale details are.
I'm tempted by one of these, it has a camera already fitted and it can be refitted with a bubble blower, water squirter, cargo hook or missile launcher (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Big kid mode - engaged.
Banggood are pretty good, never had a problem with them , sometimes it takes a while for stuff to arrive (2-3 weeks) but when the freights free, I ain't complaining :D

and always gets lots of batteries, lots and lots of 'em.
Needs more fusewire
