Protatype models

Here's a little section of anybody who manages to find a really odd ball model that doesn't fit into any of the other catergories.

Protatype models

Postby R2D2 » Wed Mar 11, 2015 7:10 pm

Hi all! My friend who owns a toy collectable shop has just purchased these beauties! The first is a genuine Hasbro Action Man prototype submarine! Its made from resin and plasticard and was the main model made before producing the production model! Its fairly heavy and has a working front gripping hand! The clear dome is made from moulded perspex! It has some black drawn correction points on the fins as the model has squarish fins! The finished production model has rounded of fins! We haven't got a clue as to how much this item is worth as its a one off and a pre production prototype! Any sugestions?

The other is a genuine Action man protatype with camera! The one on the left is a production model as produced by Hasbro! The one on the right is a prototype! The top body is made from resin with no working parts as it was used to work out the design! The production model has a lense that you look through to see what Action man is seeing! Again we have no idea what this is worth and would love any sugestions or comments!

Cool prototype R2
they look like early 90,s action men and your friend is so lucky to have the prototypes. I have a small collection of old action men and a couple from when I was a kid, I used to love playing with them and had loads of accessories and a Tank. I still have the jeep and trailer in my shed somewhere but its in a really bad way.
As to how much they are worth that's anyone's guess but being prototypes must be worth a bit. Shame he doesn't have any Palitoy prototypes now they would be worth a bob or two. thanks for the pics :)
