Wow! She's looking good Casper.
The hood is super

Tamiya have a handy page with vids for their weathering powders that I've now bookmarked!: http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/87080weathering/index.htm
At least with powders you can wash them off if you you boo boo.

I used the end of an old lighter and drilled a hole on the chassis and glued it in position, punched a hole in the leather strap and this enabled me to pull the strap tight and hook it over the stud.
worked a treat :D The only thing thats geting on my nerves is around the edge of the coachwork, there is no lip for the hoods to sit on. where the red dots are

Take two on the rear hood cover.
Decided to have another go without using the plastic part and have it loose. It went together a little better this time, practice makes better :)
I used time bond to glue the wire in place but this time used a thinner wire and i think its a much better scale.

Getting there slowly
I am not a seamstress so this took a little time to figure out where the folds should be.
I need to find some small brass tacks to use as the stud heads around the side flaps.

Its upside down in the pic above and needs some trimming off when its dry before the tacks are attatched.
I also need to trim the side rails to length and was thinking of adding back rails..still muttering

I have been thinking about it for some weeks Paul but yet to come up with a fix. Maybe a thin styrene strip bent to shape and glued on.
Have cut out the centre from the underside of the hood now the glue has dried and need to trim as i go now to get a good fit over the frame and along the sides. almost there now. :)

Its been a lot of fun and now the forum is going from strength to strength next year can only get better.

Hi Casp,

I think it was Tony that first introduced the idea of leathering to the forum on his DB5 build back in Feb 2011, however, BA yourself and Julian have all taken it up to the next level with the DB5, Cat and the Bentley !!!! :D :D
