A LED control board is provided in this step, but will not be utilized just yet:

Instead, this step had me use leftover parts from 046 and 047 to add more rigging detail onto the rear portion of the hull assembly:

It looks like a big step for the lighting will come soon with the appearance of a LED board:

The lenses from this issue and optical cables from 049 were used for the rear lights:

The last remaining parts from 049 were used for assembly of the mud flaps:

Thanks, will do!

Only one brand new part here, the motor that rotates the turret:

Most of this issue was for rigging the lighting for the rear panel. First, the LED module was assembled using parts from #052:
20210406_184115.jpg
20210406_184115.jpg (132.37 KiB) Viewed 1567 times

Next, the rear panel was attached to the hull. Using parts from #052, plugs for each of the optic cables were assembled and plugged into their respective LED module cavity, which was attached on the underside of the hull:

20210406_192327.jpg (352.56 KiB) Viewed 1567 times

The box for the control board from #051 was put together:

Using the previously supplied battery box and testing board, the new motor was powered up:

The control box and motor were then attached on the hull underside:

054
A no-build issue, a huge metal chunk of the lower chassis was given:

055
I was wondering when I would see these parts. And so begins the start of the treads:
20210406_223547.jpg
20210406_223547.jpg (333.32 KiB) Viewed 1565 times

I guess I was foolish to think that the treads would be given pre-assembled. I mean Hachette wouldn't expect subscribers to actually build the treads linkage by tiny linkage, right? Those links would have to be aligned perfectly to maximize power output and it would just be a royal pain in the butt to put each segment together with nothing but a hammer and a flat, hard surface, right? Ha, fat chance:
20210406_224328.jpg
20210406_224328.jpg (179.77 KiB) Viewed 1565 times

I estimate the segment I assembled here is just a tenth of what is needed for a full belt. For ONE side. Oh joy.

Another metal piece of the lower hull was provided:

With some screws and brackets, this new piece was attached to the part from 054:

I'm surprised the "tub" is metal, I was assuming Hachette would just use hard plastic for that area.

057
I guess the issues with the skinny boxes are going to contain more of these:
20210412_220725.jpg
20210412_220725.jpg (361.99 KiB) Viewed 1519 times

As the belt comes together, it gets easy to forget that the tread patterns should all go one way:

Another huge, metal chunk for the hull from this issue:

This was attached to the bottom hull assembly:

059
Gah, another skinny box of these:
20210412_232730.jpg
20210412_232730.jpg (326.76 KiB) Viewed 1519 times

I encountered a slight hiccup here; I was short four linkage rods so the belt assembly could not be completed as planned:
20210413_000736.jpg
20210413_000736.jpg (315.71 KiB) Viewed 1519 times

I'm hoping the next issue contains the missing rods, otherwise I have to buy another issue with those rods.

060
Just another segment of the tub in this issue:

Sadly, no sign of the missing linkage rods from 059. Anyways, the new segment was attached to the lower hull assembly:

061
Time to get back at it by starting with another tread segment. Another eight links of the tread belt were added. I'm ashamed that it took me this long to figure this out, but if the linkage rod parts are assembled in the fashion shown below, it makes the assembly much easier:
20210713_022006.jpg
20210713_022006.jpg (217.21 KiB) Viewed 622 times

I also got another issue of 055 to replace the 4 linkage rods that were missing in step 059, so now the tread belt has total count of 32 links-8 links shy of half of a complete belt.

062
This issue has another section of the lower hull and two brackets:
20210713_025257.jpg
20210713_025257.jpg (301.91 KiB) Viewed 621 times

The lower tub is almost done:

20210713_030946.jpg (336.6 KiB) Viewed 621 times

063
This step is just a duplicate of 061 and all the other prior steps with the tread segments. 40 links now:

064
The last piece of the lower hull is in this step:

This piece completes the tub and is quite heavy:

065
065 is another tread assembly step like 063, nothing different.

066
A few plastic panels and articulated tow hooks were provided in this issue. I recommend gluing these tow hooks after securing the panels that skirt the hull:
20210714_002647.jpg
20210714_002647.jpg (113.01 KiB) Viewed 612 times

A rear plastic panel was screwed onto the tub-two tow hooks were not glued on it yet:

20210714_005808.jpg (288.98 KiB) Viewed 612 times

Four plastic panels were screwed along the top of the hull. Once these were secured, I glued all the tow hooks in place:

067
Another tread segment assembly step, just like 065. Two spare linkage rods and four extra link pieces were included in this issue, which could've came in handy a few steps ago.

This issue contains detailing parts for the top deck of the hull, which was last seen in step 053:
20210720_004319.jpg
20210720_004319.jpg (367.83 KiB) Viewed 542 times

These tiny parts fit loosely, so glue is definitely required:

20210720_013734.jpg (300.64 KiB) Viewed 542 times

These cages for the front lights were a pain to install due to the spokes not being aligned with their respective holes on the deck. A lot of twisting and massaging was done to have them fit right:

20210720_020318.jpg (157.22 KiB) Viewed 542 times

A metal cable was snaked through the parts glued to the deck in this step:

Four rubber cushioning plugs were inserted into four points on the hull tub:.

069
Another tread building step, identical to 067. I'm getting a lot better and faster at building these segments now!

070
This issue gives parts for one of the wheels and its axle:

The completed wheel. The wheel is plastic, but its axle is metal:

The axle and its bushing are secured from inside the hull by a "C" shaped flange:

This first wheel was installed on the right side of the hull:

071
Just like 069, this was another tread building issue. 8 links were added to belt, making a total of 72 links all strung together:

072
This issue is identical to 070, giving parts for another wheel:
20210729_004456.jpg
20210729_004456.jpg (391.64 KiB) Viewed 427 times

This new wheel was attached to the hull, adjacent to the wheel from 070:
20210729_010335.jpg
20210729_010335.jpg (252.94 KiB) Viewed 427 times

073
This was a tread assembly step with parts identical to those given in 071. But instead of assembling a segment of eight links, a segment of four took shape instead. This segment of four was attached to the rest of the tread belt, now with a total of 76 links all strung together:
20210803_021649.jpg
20210803_021649.jpg (328.49 KiB) Viewed 367 times

074
074 has the exact same parts as those in 072. So another wheel was assembled and joined those already on the right side of the hull:
20210803_025352.jpg
20210803_025352.jpg (307.53 KiB) Viewed 367 times

075
075 begins work on the second tread belt. Nothing new here except for the presence of spare parts. I'm guessing Hachette listened to other customers like me who were missing parts from the tread assembly issues:
20210804_001521.jpg
20210804_001521.jpg (360.32 KiB) Viewed 359 times

076
This issue is a repeat of 074, but this time the wheel is attached on the left side of the hull:
20210804_010901.jpg
20210804_010901.jpg (244.18 KiB) Viewed 359 times

Also in this issue was a flyer for the display case:
20210804_005107.jpg
20210804_005107.jpg (175.23 KiB) Viewed 359 times

Apparently, orders have to be submitted to Hachette by August 13,2021, and it costs almost 300 USD. Unfortunately, Hachette will not ship it outside of Japan.

077
This was a tread building step like 075, adding eight links to the segment built in that step. Nothing new here, and no spare parts were provided. No more issues for now, I gotta wait for another shipment.
