DeAgostini Star Wars Helmets Collection

Postby royjess » Wed Jan 20, 2016 6:12 pm

Please feel free to post pictures of the helmets here as they come in. I'll be keeping mine in the perspex display box so I might not get great photos of them.

I've already have the regional test issues 1 to 5, but I'm still currently waiting to obtain the current Helmets which I'm having difficulties to find in my local shops, I've have pe-subscribe issue 6 on wards.

So far I understand the following issues will be as follows

Issue 1 (Darth Vader)
Issue 2 (Boba Fett)
Issue 3 (C3PO)
Issue 4 (X-Wing Starfighter)
Issue 5 (Stormtrooper)
Issue 6 (Tie Fighter Pilot)
Issue 7 (Biker Scout)
Issue 8 (General Grievous)

I've just order a copy of issue 1 on line and this should take no more than 28 days to arrive, but if my past experience with ordering from them direct is anything to go by, it should be here within the next two weeks.

I've compared issue 1 mag with the summer regional test.

Most of the mag was the same. The first two pages were moved to the rear and replaced with an A to Z of star Wars, starting with the letter A in this issue, listing Planets, characters, weapons etc... and each listing gave a brief description. The only thing missing from the latest issue number 1 was the poster picture printed on the inside of the rear cover.

I've phoned up customer services today to start my subscription from issue 2 instead of issue 6.

I'll be listing each helmets as they come here from issue 9 on wards (as I've already listed on here up to issue 8).

Today I received Bobba Fett and C3PO. As with the regional test, I'm very pleased with the quality of these.

I've read somewhere that it you would like to remove the helmets from the stands, they will come of if you gently twisting/rotating them from side to side. But personally I'll be leaving mine on and that you remove them at your own risk.

With my subscription, I also received the Star Wars ANH film poster printed on a metal tin wall plate which is 161/2" x 11" , Bigger than what I had imagine.

Sorry Casp, I won't be personally posting any images of the Helmets. As I'll be keeping mine in there perspex display cube, I'm sure that better images will be available on the internet compared to what I'll be able to take, plus I'm running out of free space for photos on Photobucket.

My 5th delivery of the Star Wars Helmets arrived today and there was no R2 D2 USB stick, instead a letter saying "We would like to apologise for the delay of your free R2 D2 USB stick, which was planned to be dispatched in your fifth delivery .Unfortunately there has been a slight production delay from our supplier and we hope to have the stock with us in the next few weeks. This will therefore now be sent out in your June despatch" I wonder if they sent mine out by mistake to the Build the R2D2 recent subscribers who have been receiving these USB sticks?

My free R2D2 USB stick came today, I wasn't impressed with it at all. It's made from rubber, the legs are wonky and it grey in colour :o :naughty:

I'm very pleased with the Helmets and I've not problem with the Tusken Raider.

I've just sent an email to Jacklin Ltd. about the USB stick. The photo shown on the web site shows a that the R2 USB stick has a white body (see photo below). If anyone else is not happy with the USB stick, I would suggest emailing them and hopefully if they receive enough complaints, hopefully they will do something about it. It certainly won't be something to be proudly displayed. As it is, it will go back into the box.

I've seen all the others and they were good ,it was only the Tusken Raider that looked under parr ,probably because they were my favorite so wanted it to be better :( Will be good collection when finished
