Mark's Bell X-1

Seeing as some of us like to build small models, I've created the Tiny Model Challenge. Feel free to post build diaries of any tiny models.

The kit has got a full interior, so you can do a clear view model if you like.

Looks to be turning into real little gem of a build there.
Would look grand with that B-29,wouldn't take up much shelf space at all..!

After a bit of a delay, here is the X-1 with it's orange overcoat, and windscreen fitted.
The windscreen was a right so-n-so to paint

Next up, some rather small decals........

Nah, the decals should be child's play. Tiny decals are easy. It's the big (naughty word)s that are more tricky.

Here is the X-1 all nicely decalled up. It was a bit trickier than I expected, but that's just because the model is so small and you need three hands to apply them !

Just a few details to paint in, and she is done.

Thanks guys. Just a couple of details to add to completely finish her off. I've got a small wooden plinth off eBay to mount her on.

Hadn't thought of that. I'm planning on having this one mounted on a bit of brass rod, and a see through version stood on the plinth underneath her.
