Paul's Pocher Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Blue Monterrey

Postby Paul » Mon Nov 10, 2014 6:45 pm

Hi All,

Whilst I probably wont start this until after Christmas, I thought I'd start the build diary and put up a few "taster" pics over the next week or so, and make any comments and comparisons to the original one (Chop Job excluded, before BA even mentions it!!!! :laughing-rolling: ).

A couple to follow in a bit.....

Well first up the usual pics of the Box.

Whilst I've not checked the parts yet, things that come to mind as differences are:

Cream internal door panelling etc. and seats (though not apparently on the relevant part of the steering wheel)
"silver" wheels

Hi Chill,

The Pocher Lambos are really lovely to build (albeit there are a few things I don't like - One gripe to follow in a bit) but at least you get everything in one box and not have to complain all the time about certain partwork (not the forum I hasten to add!!! :) :) ) kits

A pic of the dash below.

What I can't understand is that they've painted the cream, yet not the black - In my view I think it should have been either both, or neither.

Also I might fire off an e-mail to them to find out which colour they've used for the cream (albeit I've not fully checked the instructions yet) re: the steering wheel (not check also yet).

Mark said that also on another thread ! :)

I'm more interested why they sprayed the cream, yet not the black. As I stated earlier, surely either both or neither ?

Very nice Paul. To be honest, I wish I'd waited for the roadster now, but never mind, I shall still enjoy the one I've got.

Re the cream/black finish, the pic on the back of the box shows what they intended colour wise.
Cheers

Hi Mark,

I know, but I very badly explained my thoughts

What I meant was that the plastic is all black, and the spray painted cream parts make the black unpainted black part look rather bad in comparison, so to make the black look good, it will need masking off and spraying also - Hopefully this makes some type of sense this time  :)

Yes the wheels are "silver" with the Roadster (sorry for the bad pic):

With the seats, all have been sprayed cream as supplied (all the mouldings are black, as I've scraped the internal parts to check) - so just a dry fit (re: the dodgy fitting) and shadows included!!!:

Ah, got what you mean now Paul ! I agree, it should all have been painted.

I've had a very quick look through the Roadster instructions tonight (though not checked the parts).....

Whilst I might have missed a heck of a lot more, I've noticed that:

With the Roadster, there are valves supplied for the wheels ( so more :superlglue: )

The Roadster also comes with a hard top that can be taken off (?)

There were a couple of other things, though I've forgotten now

Tonight I've also remembered to send a query to Airfix regarding, whether the cream matches an exact Humbrol colour and if not the nearest one. Also the other query about what type(s) of glue should be used. :)
