Parts for the black pearl

Postby Chrisbuilds » Fri Jul 23, 2021 12:43 pm

Hello everyone.
I know that it is not a recent series but I am in search of issues 2, 111 and 113 of hatchettes build the black pearl.
My boys have accidentally broken my build and the parts from these issues are what I need to fix it. I have searched online and so far haven't had any luck. Is there anyone that knows where I can aquire the parts? Any help is much appreciated.
Many thanks

A lot of parts are generic. What exactly is it you need. We might be able to suggest off the shelf alternatives.

Thank you for your reply.

I have uploaded pics of the parts I need, both parts are the same just one is bigger than the other. Any help would be amazing.

Thanks

I think I’d scratch build those. It’s basically a rectangle with 2 holes, and two curved arms. I’d drill the two holes in a scrap of ply, or other wood about the right thickness (3mm?) then cut it to size.

For the arms, bend some strip wood the right size (1.5mm sq?) in an even curve drill holes in the ends then cut to length. Then just glue the arms on top of the rectangular part. You could set them in by cutting a slot in the rectangular part, but that’s fiddly at this size.

I’d drill holes before cutting to size. The holes are quite close to the edge and you risk the holes breaking out if you’re not careful.

This page shows how they would have been constructed in reality. Scroll down to fig. 4.

Hope that helps
