As to the rope, how about taking one of the strands out and then re twist the others that will make it thinner.

Too late with the rope thing, as all glued in now.

with the deck chairs, I tried using match sticks last night, though not very successful

with the parasol, then cocktails sticks at the moment, so I'll see how that turns out !!!! ....... more to follow :) :)

For the parasol, just go to your local order a pint and ask for a cocktail umbrella :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

A pic of some work on the parasol with some cocktail sticks (this will be the underside).

I'm using some 151 glue, and as the paper has been varnished, the excess glue/rubber when dry will come off:

How about using lengths of old guitar string to make the parasol arms ?
Cheers

Ergh Hum,

Well a few things now glued in place, though I'm still not too happy.....

I really want to do a deck chair or a lounger, and perhaps a fire in the middle.

NB. I've still not worked out to do the tins as Ian mentioned, though do have some thoughts .....!!!!

In seriousness, I'm more concerned if you've been able to sort the problem with the hole on your JU :) :)

Thanks for your concern Paul.

It will be a while until we know. Still got a lot to do on the paintwork until I remove the masking tape and doors.

Well, the bar in the backround is now done, but I've still not done the deck chair (Ergh Hum) ....

The shack is just made of card from some food packaging.

For the roof, I've used some shredded paper, sprayed it with some yellow and green, then hand painted some darker green in and a hint of brown.

The Sign was hand written, to make it look rough, using a felt pen, and then the paper "laminated" with sellotape and then attached to a cocktail stick.

A bit of work in progress on a fire for the foreground (well you've got to have a BBQ on a beach!!!!).

Close up it looks like there's too much yellow and red (almost looks like a pizza gone wrong.....)!!! :laughing-rolling:

Anyway, this is just some roughly broken up match sticks on a piece of paper, all sprayed black (as a base coat) and the red and yellow hand painted in (as no Orange).

When cut out, I'll probably add some matt black to calm it down:

Brilliant work Paul. Your imagination is in overdrive.

If you wanted to add some smoke to the fire, tease out some cotton wool. Works wonders.
I think you could probably add more red and yellow to the heart of the fire if you wanted to be honest. Mix the two together and you could add some orange too ;)
Cheers

Cheers Mark,

Although the fire is now in situ, that can still all be done. :D :D

A bit of more work in progress to follow.

Also, before I forget, I should have painted the inside of the hut rather than leaving in primer :angry-banghead: and also, I could have used some cut/split coffee twizzers, as planking on the outside of the hut :angry-banghead: yet again !!!! :)

Well the fire is now in situ for the BBQ (NB, Mark's comments have been noted, so I might try that!):

And I'm still doing my nuts in, on how to do a Deck Chair, so I'm sure a lot more sawdust from my brains will be used up on this !!!!!
