Managed to brake the steering wheel, fixed by stretching some sprue and glueing a small piece in place

sprue stretched and bent slightly

Fixed!

My first attempt at lining, first painted yellow where I needed yellow stripes then masked off and painted red for the red stripes before overpainting with the final colour.

Car lining tape doesn't make very good masking tape, this is the stage it nearly all went in the bin :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:

After getting my composure back I bought some 0.5mm masking tape to try and line the wheel spokes, if this didn't work it was definitely heading for that bin!

Second attempt at the boiler lining, yellow has been already masked.

Red masked, ready for final colour.

Where I am at the moment is trying to fit the gearing, this is where nothing wants to line up and spindles etc seem to short :angry-banghead:
More to follow I hope!

Looking great No1, isn't it a pain when a kit doesn't do what you want it to do.

well done on getting the strips sorted.

Have a K for the lining  Great work on such a tiny model. I have one of these in the stash somewhere. It's just moved even further down the pile :laughing-rolling:
Cheers

I'm not too sure whether to say "Don't Get all Steamed up over this", or say it the opposite way !!! :) :) :)

The laptop now has enough steam to fire up, so here are a few pics of the finished model
I wanted to add some chain for the steering so first off I made up some rings to attach the chain to the front axle

Image

The chain was simply wrapped around the steering rod at the other end, unfortunately there wasn't enough clearance so some plasticard was wrapped around the rod for more space for the chain

Image

(sorry not the clearest picture)

And here she is in all her glory, (ignore the missing tooth, it was meant to be in a less visible position but with all the trouble of lining the cogs up this is where it ended up :angry-banghead: )
