Hi Roy, I really like what you've done with the Shapeways parts especially the cone and the floor panels. I've also ordered these parts but I'm not sure what kind of paint and color would be fitting best. I see that you did a great job matching the colors. Could you tell me what paint and color codes you applied? Thank you in advance for your reply!

Thanks Bluevoice.

I wouldn't worry too much about painting the cone and matching it at this stage as you will be given painting instructions for the build in a later issue.

But if you do want to match it for the time being, I used the following

I used for the nose cone the following Vallejo Air paints

12 drops 132 Age White
1 or 2 drops 116 cam. Grey Green (add more or less to create the desire colour match)

After a few coats I then coated with a satin varnish 522

And then coat and remove a black wash 201 game colour

For the Derjarik Table it was a combination of Vallejo aluminium, white, Cam Grey Green and medium sea green, don’t ask for the proportions, I think that they were in equal measure and then I just added more of more colour until the desire colour. I then coated with a gloss varnish.

I also added Vallejo thinners to the mix (1 part thinners to 3 parts paint)

I hope this helps
