I see the flash monster has left its mark :laughing-rolling:

I'm looking forward to this build too. The Evening Star is a great looking loco.
Cheers

A great choice there #1. I hope you have better luck with the Evening Star than your City of Truro. I look forward to seeing what you do with this.

Yes plenty of sanding required to kill the flash monster with these kits :laughing-rolling:

Your City of Truro is looking great, what went wrong with it because it was looking good?

The Evening Star is a really good choice, I'm looking forward seeing this build.

Thought its about time I did an update.
The only mod I'm doing is to replace the moulded on handrail on the boiler
Image

once it was gone I drilled some small holes for the new handrail "brackets" (for want of a better word)

I used Humbrol metalcote 27003 for the first time on the wheels where they would be in contact with the rails.

Here's as far as I am at the moment.

In hindsight I should have used satin black instead of matt black which marks easily, so once its all finished I will give it a coat of satin varnish

The loco looks really good number1. The florists wire was a clever touch, and the buffed humbrol looks spot on! 2 new tips I have learned today
