Stage 12: Upper Starboard Engine

Image

The alluvial damper and hydraulic adjusters are added to stage 11.

Image

The remaining parts are put together separate of these. Starting with turbo generator body and cone.

Image

The turbo impeller is attached followed by 2 individual blades.

Image

Image

This assembly is then added into the fission chamber.

Image

On the outside of the fission chamber place a collar and that finishes the stage.

Stage 13: Upper Starboard Engine

Image

Now I am going to finish the casing. Starting off with the casing detail.

Image

Image

Thruster diffuser is added to the lens then encased in the nozzle.

Image

Image

The LED is attached to the reflector and carefully bent back to allow it to fit to the previously assembly. This is then fit to the engine casing.

Image

Image

Image

The engine casing is closed up and held together by the nozzle and a locking collar. This is all a very tight fit and goes together well.

Image

Finally I can test the diffuser.

Stage 14: Upper Starboard Engine Mount

Image

The inner wing frame and engine mount brace are placed in the previously built wing. They are attached with several screws of different sizes so they are very secure.

Image

Image

Image

The sub light assembly is fitted on the wing and secured with a screw. The LED is threaded through and routed around the edge of the wing.

Image

There is a longer LED lead that is secured toward the end the wing and back to meet the first LED wire.

Image

There is now a cover for the wing root. This is attached with 3 screws that are then covered with plugs.

Image

Image

The wing assembly now looks like this:

That has ow brought me up-to-date with my subscription. Up until now I have been receiving 2 issues every 4 weeks. That will now increase to 5 issues every 5 weeks.

So I thought now would be a good time for a group photo. This is the work completed over the first 14 issues.

Stage 15 - Upper Starboard Engine

Image

This stage is all about the pipework. Which is reasonably straightforward.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

All the pipework details are fitted in to small holes. This was mostly enough but I had to use a tiny bit of glue to keep a couple of them from slipping out.

Stage 16 - Upper Starboard Engine

Continuing with the upper starboard engine.

Image

Firstly this trailing edge support was put together and attached to the starboard engine mount. For some reason I didn't take a picture showing where it fit.

Image

Image

Next, the internal bulkhead which was fitted to the power input unit from the previous issue.

Image

Image

More pieces of pipework were added to the power input unit. The instructions label these incorrectly but I was able to work out where they go. I also found a note about the correct order. Typically this was after I had put them on.

Image

Image

The power converter is pressed together and added to the power input unit.

Image

Image

This is all then added to the starboard wing and closed up.
