Part 8 The Throttle quadrant

Postby 9JL » Thu Oct 22, 2009 1:30 am

Part 8 was collected today, this contains some really tiny parts that need careful handling, you get a small plastic segmented box with the throttle quadrant, mixture controls and friction screws,it is inevitable that there will be some shortages and I got short change on a missing throttle lever quickly sorted by filing up a replica.
To assemble the tiny controls the best approach is to use a tacky rod made from a cocktail stick with a piece of bluetak on the end, then you can lift up the parts one by one and attach them to the quadrant block, they only fit one way round ie the flat fits into the gate.
The standard of diecasting on these miniscule parts is outstanding, just be warned that they are the sort of things that go zung, thung into your best axminster !

No I am still missing issue 6 :( the one with the first engine in it.

Was there only the Merlin engine in it or was there other bits in it? Can you give me a list of parts included?
