Well that's it. This has been one of the best part works I have done and well done to Model space for producing such a great model! I had great fun building it and although a little fiddly in places was overall an easy build! The quality is first class and this is going to be a great addition to my collection. I just hope the Mini that I have subscribed to will be just as good!

Nice job, she looks stunning ! The only thing that doesn't look quite right is the seat belts, but that's a small point. I'm sorely tempted by this, but I have a 1/12 Countach in my stash somewhere.

superb build, john - envy you for this, still waiting if I can ever get this one...
a word to put it straight - model space did the marketing - the real hero is kyosho, who did the model, according to japanese sources...

My headlights don't sit flush either. Also my doors are a bit wobbly and don't lock open. I just can't figure out what is wrong with them.

Also the engine hatch catches on the spoiler when opening. I might have wired up the headlights slightly wrong so that will have to be looked at - everything else works properly but the push button for the pop up lights doesn't get them up fully and I can't work that out!

I loved building it though and never did find out where radiator Hose A from issue 35 went.

Now I have the Mustang, Delorian and now the Merc Gullwing on the go along with many others!

Hi Snapdragon! I'm going to have to take off the base to see whats stopping the lights from sitting flush! I hope its just a wire or something! My doors also don't lock when up! I'm wondering if the hinges in the doors need tightening up! I think they need to be quite tight with a bit of resistance! I will at some point redo the doors to find out what to do! I support the doors at the moment by lifting the doors as high as I dare until the stays pop out and use them as stiff wire supports! This does work for me although not the best solution! Luckely all my lights work ok as does the engine and horn sounds! I to am very pleased with this build and if I can sort out these little problems it will be even better! By the way! You pop up the lights using the lever underneath until they pop up then lift them up with your fingers until they clip into place! Its quite tight but does work!

Snapdragon! I have heard some one in Japan where it was released first motorized his pop up lights using a micro servo! I might consider this in the future!

I have figured out the door problem. You should have 2 plastic parts left over from stage 74 & 77. Look at step 16 on page 463 pack 24 instruction book and everything should become clear.

How I totally missed this is very much a :angry-banghead: and senior moment.

I have been looking at the button/lever that raises the headlights and I think that it is not tall enough to trip the bar into the locked raised position and it is beyond me to start messing with micro motors without explicit details, a bottle of something strong and a safety net!

I think that one of the bulbs on the right hand headlights on mine is not playing fair. I might have to go for a replacement which means taking the thing apart :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:

I will take and post photos at some point.

I have very much enjoyed this, even more so as I chose it after winning the Deag Christmas draw and it was a very close choice between the Lamborghini or the Harley for me. So this beast has cost me nothing apart from my own time :D but I am saddened by never working out where radiator hose A from stage 35 was or is meant to go! :violin:
Until I sort out the headlight issue then the final cosmetic finishing touches stay off and go into a bag.

I now look forwards to getting to grips with:

King Tut's Mask
Shelby Mustang
Delorean
Mercedes 300 SL
Eiffel Tower
F-14 Tomcat
Alpha Jet

Also any plastic kit that comes my way. I may add the X-Wing if it goes to Newsagents. We'll see

James

Hi snapdragon! I fitted in the parts your refering to and my doors still don't stay open! So I'm as perplexed as you! As for the lights not sitting flush Iv'e yet to sort this out! As for your none working light its unlightly the LED has gone! Its probably a broken wire in the light housing! Also I have't found out where that blasted hose goes either!

Managed to sort out front pop up lights! Had to take off botom of body! Found I'd left some masking tape on some wires and also had to readjust the clips! Here are the lights up!

Doors now stay up! Had to strip doors down and tighten screws on hinges so there is enough friction to hold doors up!
