All,
Received issues 26-29 a bit earlier than expected. Some observations - the screws securing the front suspension uprights to the wishbones only engage a few turns. The instructions say that you should not "overtighten" the screws and the obvious reason is that DeAg could not reproduce scale ball joints which would be necessary for the suspension to work. The screws seem to bottom very quickly so it is hard to to overtighten without stripping anyway. All looks very sloppy although the damper springs help tighten everything up when they are installed, so lets hope those few threads don't come undone!

Torsion bars do not appear to not even engage with the suspension so the front ends wave in the breeze?

That's it for a few weeks!

All,

Haven't heard from R2D2 for a bit, hope he's not having more probs with his foot!
I see from the official build site that Issue 32 contains the anti-roll bar and steering rack and answers the question about the steering working. Yes it does (in theory) and thank heavens the steering column UJs appear to come ready assembled. Issue 32 makes the assembly look quite tricky, but I guess I will find out next month!
