Looking quite a lump now.

Will you be painting the underside to match the car body?
On real E Types, the whole shell was painted body colour.
Black underseal was a customer option - usually ignored in the '60's.

Never actually thought of painting the floor but now you mention it I might. Would have to be very carful to match the colour right though!

I doubt whether this floor panel will be visible from the underside once the model is complete.

On the Aston Martin DB5, the floor panel slotted into a very solid main body frame which was then covered by the chassis containing the rear axle and exhausts – I've attached a pic to show this.

I had to spray the visible part of the chassis silver because it was supplied in black. If they supply the chassis in black in this E-Type model I will certainly be spraying it British Racing Green.

Depending on whether they will be supplying some sort of carpet covering to cover the inside face of the floor panel (which I doubt), I will certainly be spraying it to match the light tan colour I've chosen for all interior elements.

The car being modelled is an early S1 E Type which had a 'flat floor' inside so I'm guessing there will be an interior floor panel at some point.

I probably wont paint the floor as its not going to be seen. I am presuming the sills will be painted racing green when they are supplied.

Here's a pic from the site showing what appears to be carpeted floor. I presume this will be supplied as a complete section.

R2D2,

Well spotted – I hadn't thought to check De Agostini's site for completed model detail pics.

I've just spotted one of these pics for the boot (pic attached) and, since I'm changing the colour of the interior trim from that horrid brown to a light tan, I can see that I've got quite a lot more spraying to do than I originally thought.

Yep! Looks busier inside the car than we thought. You could have quite a lot of work involved! :D

Chaps,
Long time no contribution!
Below a couple of pics of my finished engine and subframe - spot the extras added. Really want to start the next wheel but the hub they sent me was defective, so waiting for a replacement.

Spring suspension fitted. Screws were very tight to fit so drilled out holes slightly and they fitted better.
