My hopeful BOTY entry

Postby corelki2005 » Sun Feb 17, 2019 5:06 pm

Hopefully I will complete this in the 10mths that are remaining.

It will be a three aircraft dio.

here is a pic of what I hope to achieve.

But instead of two buccaneers, there will be one buccaneer and one Vulcan

The Vulcan will be in Operation Black Buck livery

The Buccaneer will be in Operation Desert Storm livery as I believe there was a squadron of the them deployed.

That'll be an extra large bucket of popcorn please!!

Shame you couldn't squeeze in the Valiant as well, but this should be an awesome display!
Cheers

Hi James, great post :D the Victor has been my most favourite aircraft of all time for more years than I care to mention, I can't believe you could get that close to such a "legend" :o as you may remember (or not) I took my great grand son to the Coventry air museum we got inside a "Vulcan"

Sorry for the thread "highjack" Nick but it would be amazing if your "third" aircraft could be a Vulcan :o

Thanks for the links James :D

"The Flying Mermaid" decals duly ordered for the "Operation Desert Storm" Buccaneer

W2... please read my start post re VULCAN.... :D

The Vulcan kit I have in my stash already has the "Operation Black Buck" decals so that's a bonus :D

Pics of the kits are coming soon.

Desert Pink

https://www.hmhobbies.co.uk/mrp-185-raf-desert-pink-30ml.html

Airbrush cleaner for this

https://www.hmhobbies.co.uk/mr-airbrush-cleaner-250ml.html

Both back in stock next week

Victors were painted in Hemp BS 4800:10-B-21 Hemp with Light aircraft Grey underneath during OP Granby/Desert Storm. At this moment there is no accurate paint colour for modellers I think

https://www.riolettcustomaerosols.co.uk/products/10-b-21-lizard-grey/

Light aircraft grey - Vallejo 71.121 is very close, but you may want to order from the link above.

AK have LAG in their "Real Colours" range RC 298 and Hemp as a BS381c colour 389 RC301

Hi Nick, the "Vulcan" wings may be a bit of a "so n so" many years ago I had the Airfix concord and the wings were so warped due to there size, just have plenty of clamps and tape to hand when you start.

Popcorn ordered, this is going to be a brilliant diorama. The V bombers are amongst my favourite aircraft. Probably just as well ZM haven't come out with a 1/32 Vulcan......
Cheers
