Received pack 1 of Eaglemoss Ghostbusters Ecto 1 build.

The pack contains 2 blister packs of parts.

Pack 1 contains the bonnet, licence plate, bonnet rim pieces and air vents.
Pack 2 contains the front grille and headlight assemblies.

There is also 2 magazines containing the build instructions as well as information on various aspects of the film, an introduction booklet outlining the features of the model and a poster depicting the full model in 100% scale - it's going to be HUGE! Along with this I also got the 1st binder to store the magazines in.

Pack 1, issue 1

In pack 1 we get 2 packs of parts and 2 magazines, along with a brochure showing the features of the model and a poster showing the actual finished size of the model.

Concentrating on issue 1 we get the front hood (or bonnet), this piece is huge, solid metal and got a fair bit of weight to it. It is painted in the famous white of the car and black on the underside. It also has a few chrome details already attached to it. We also get a few other detail parts - a pair of vents which we screw onto the hood and the famous ECTO-1 licence plate a plastic chrome strip and a white metal strip. We are also given a ghostbusters logo sticker to do what we want with.

All we do in this issue is screw a chrome piece to a metal strip to complete the lip of the bumper that will be attached at a later date. We also screw the vents onto the bonnet. Super simple.

issue 2

Here with issue 2 we get a lot more parts to play with. Most of this is plastic but we also have 2 white painted metal parts. In this issue we begin to assemble the front grille and a pair of headlights.

The headlights consist of a number of parts that all fit together, starting with the chrome surround and nsert, the clear lens (which even has the patterning of the real headlights), the reflector which the LEDs will eventually fit into (all these parts are plastic) and finally the white headlight housing which is metal.

We attach a lip onto the front of the grille, the headlight supports, a grille pice to each side and finally assemble the 2 front anti collision strobe lights and attach these to the lip on the grille (fun fact, on the real car these were actually strobe lights taken from an airplane and modified!). After this we attach the assembled headlight units to the relevant sides and the issue it complete.

Stage 3

Lots of parts in this issue! We start but placing the fog light lenses into the housings followed by the reflectors and screw in place. Shame to see there is no opening for an LED to be added to these light up. I shall probably modify this later in the build as kits become available.

Next up we screw the licence plate from.stage 1 into the centre section of the bumper then screw the 2 light housings to either side.

Finally we attach this piece to the upper grille section assembled in stage 1.

Really liking how this is taking shape and looks the bees knees

Stage 4

A lot less parts this time, but what we do get has some real weight to it! That tyre is pretty solid and heavy, it's a kind of rubber but really hard/firm rubber. Some superb detailing on it with the fire stone branding and other mark's along with the painted white wall. We also get the wheel parts which are solid metal, a plastic hub cap and centre cap.

We start by putting the 2 wheel half into the tyre from each side and screw together and that's pretty much it. The hub cap and centre cap will be assembled later on in the build.

This is 1 heavy wheel, and were going to have 4 of these bad boys!

Stage 5

Back to lots of parts again and now we turn our attentions to the engine, starting with the gearbox. Most of these parts are solid metal apart for the oil sump at the bottom of the gearbox

A fairly straight forward assembly we attach some brackets to the clutch housing and then screw the 2 parts of this together. Finally we attach 1 half of the gear box followed by the 2dd half to complete the gearbox and clutch bell housing. Finally we add the sump pan on the under side.

Stage 6

Final part of this delivery is assembling the left side cylinder head and attaching it to the previously assembled gearbox. The main body is metal but the rocker cover and exhaust manifold is plastic. All really great quality though so no complaints at all.

We start by attaching some brackets and the dipstick to the main body of the engine. Then we move onto the head and attach the exhaust manifold, a wire guide bracket and finally the head itself. We then assemble this to the main body and finally attach the whole assembly onto the gearbox.

This completes this delivery.

I'm really enjoying it and its certainly shaping up to be a pretty good build so far! 10 issues in and 271 parts already including all screws etc. Pretty impressive.
