#82 gives you a big chunk of the bottom half with a pre-installed circuit board. After making sure all the connections between the board and motors for the tailplanes and airbrakes were made I was left with this mess:

Then the time came to mate both halves together. After a lot of profane language, everything came together. The big takeaway here is to make sure the 6-pin cable (circled in red) runs towards the front of the plane, the rest of the cables go towards the rear:

The airbrake assembly and part of the upper deck also came into place:

#83 had me put the tailfin bases in place, as well as the circuit boards for the rudders. Parts were also given to start one of the exhaust nozzles:

Hi valkyrie, looks like plenty of working parts with all that wiring, looking forward to your next update.

Thanks, it's almost done and while the finish line is in sight, I have to take my time since the number of things that can go wrong increases as I progress.

#84-86 continues assembly of the exhaust and afterburners. Instructions say to attach the tailhook, ventral fins, and tail tip but I held off on those parts for now in fear of breaking them as I handle the plane:

#87-88 just gave the missile racks for the underside:

#89-92 adds four more Phoenix and four more Sparrow missiles to vary the loadout plus the pedestal to lay the turkey on:

#93-95 = More ordnance! Namely four more Sidewinders, four GBU-16s, and four GBU-24s. Paint was thick on my GBU-24 parts, so some sanding was in order to get the rear tips attached properly:

#96 - gives a slice of a carrier deck, plus the piece de resistance: the main control circuit board for the final assembly. The instructions also lay out how the cables need to line up for easy installation of the board:

#97 - 100 is all about the finishing touches. The remote control, two more pieces of a carrier deck, and final details like the aerials and pitot tubes were given out. The last metal piece for the underside serves as a cover for the main control circuit board. I gotta have to check the remote control functionality before I add the fine details, but this Tomcat is essentially done:
