Pack 6 give us most of the floor pan and rear suspension.

Stage 41 give us a front tyre.

Image

The boiling water trick soon gets the front tyre fitted.

Image

The instructions say to fit the wheel the front subframe assembly, but I'm leaving it off for now.

Stage 42 give us the front floor pan.

Image

Nothing to do with this at the moment, other than admire it.

Staged 43 gives us the rear floor panel.

Image

The two floor pan sections are screwed together.

Image

Stage 44 gives us the differential and final drive.

Image

Firstly we fit the bonnet catch.

Image

The brake discs are held in place by the universal joints. These are then secured with screws.

Image

Now screw the upper half of the diff casing.

Image

Stage 45 gives us the rear subframe and handbrake linkage.

Image

Feed the diff assembly into the subframe and secure it with a couple of screws.

Image

Now push the handbrake linkage into the location hole of the sub frame.

Image

Here's a view of the linkage from the bottom of the sub frame showing the two linkages that are fixed with small screws.

Image

Stage 46 gives us the left suspension.

Image

Assemble the shock absorbers. These are secured with screws that go down the inside of the cylinder. The shocks should be free to compress.

Image

The shocks are fitted to the sub frame with the mounting plate, and secured with a couple of screws from the underside.

Image

Assemble the half shaft and universal joint wit a pin.

Image

Fit the half shaft to the joint in the sub frame. Note that the half shaft is not symmetrical, and should be fitted so that the shaft angles upwards.

Image

Take the wishbone and fit it to the shock absorbers. Make sure you get it the right way round.

Image

Fit the end to the subframe with a couple of pins.

Image

Fit the hub carrier to the outer end of the wishbone with a long pin.

Image

Finally, add a couple of screws to fix the wishbone securely to the shocks.

Image

Stage 47 gives us the right suspension.

Image

The assembly is a repeat of the left suspension so I won't repeat myself. The completed assembly will look like this.

Image

Stage 48 fits the sub frame to the floor pan.

Image

Firstly we fit the links to the anti-roll bar.

Image

Fit the links to the radius arms. These just click in.

Image

Fit the anti-roll bar to the floor pan with a couple of mounting brackets.

Image

Slide the sub frame in place, noting that the universal joint on the prop shaft goes in the hole in the floor pan.

Image

Fix ghe subfrma in place with four screws.

Image

The instructions say to insert the pins in the dradius arms into the holes int eh wishbone. However, I found the they just fell out, so it's easier to leave these until after the next step.

Fit the brace plate to the bottom the sub frame.

Image

Now you can insert the pins of the radius arms into the correct holes in the wishbones, and secure the other ends off the rides arms with the safety straps.

Image

This completes Pack 6.

I'm running a bit behind with the Jag at the moment. However, here is pack 7. I've kinda cheated a bit since pack 7 is the silencer, then building 2 wheels. I've just photographed the wheel packs, and I'll build the wheels at my leisure since they are a repeat of the wheels already constructed.

So, stage 49 gives us the silencer.

Screw the two parts of the silencer together.

And screw it to the floor pan.

For the rest of the pack, here are the photos of the packs. Check back to Pack 4 for detail on how I assembled the wheels.

I do have Pack 8 on the shelf which will follow sometime soon.
