I wouldn't hold your breath, I went to see the car today, the bumpers had been primed a few days ago and Alan was giving them a few days to set and he was going to paint them this evening, but when we viewed them today, the primer had cracked :angry-banghead: They are at a loss with why the paint is cracking, especially when it all has been prep and sealed in using barcoat  So Alan has to re do these again :angry-banghead: We are hoping for the car to be picked up either on Sunday or Monday

He had temporarily patched up the holes underneath and the car will need to go back in once the VW is off the ramp for a few days for the holes to be properly welded. The centre wheel caps will be done sometime next week and the hard top sometime before the winter, both of which are not essential for the MOT or for us to drive around in

Very frustrating, I believe the old paint is unstable and need removing completely. I did initially instruct them when getting the original quote last year to remove all existing paint and they also put that in the written quote that they sent me. They haven't done as agreed and they have only taken the paint down to what they think is good paint, hence why it's cracking despite using the barcoat.

It's looking better than new. It'll be worth all the frustration and inconvenience in the end.

Alan has done an amazing job, it's very shiny, I think they underestimated what work was to be required on it.

They been having the BBQ for the past few nights as they been staying up late working hard on my car. They have been taking and sharing the photos on FB and I've also been posting these on another forum site too. I'm currently don't know how many miles are on the clock, the clock is in km and we work it out to be around 160,00 miles. He is called Eunos which is the Japanese name for the imported model

Collecting the car as you posted the above Mike ;)

Alan made a brand new battery bracket, the old one was completely rotten

Image

A very nice surprise, Alan and Julie left a bunch of flowers on the passengers seat for Jess, Jess's face say's it all

Image

Alan and Julie was also surprise how we manage to completely fit Jess's large wheelchair in such a small car :o

The old wind screen wipers were broken and needed replacing for the MOT, so I replaced these with some stainless steel ones

Image

I can't say how much we missed the car and how lovely it is to drive again

Welcome back home Eunos
