My 1989 ford sierra cosworth

Postby Lee3022 » Sun May 31, 2015 12:26 pm

Currently restoring a 1989 ford sierra Cosworth, will add more pics but not doing much at the moment just finding or saving for parts.
It's been stripped and resprayed inside and out, this was done around 4 years ago, me and a friend rebuilt the engine and has just been put back in the car.
Not a standard rebuild, I want to drive this car and enjoy it and owned many in the past.

Lots to be done on the car but so far, new fuel tank, fuel and brake lines all genuine, new suspension, abs recommisioned, re-wired and tidied, sourced leather interior and correct trim.
Engine, baffled big wing sump, standard crank, all new bearings and seals, 200 Motorsport block, low compression accralite Pistons with H section shot peened rods and arp bolts, fully refurbished later head with new valves guides and seals, new t34 turbo and -34 actuator on a 48 housing, engine fully balanced and aiming for 400bhp when live mapped.

That's a blast from the past, couple of friends used to have one but insurance killed them. Excellent work engine looks good

Thanks mate, £100 a year classic insurance at the mo, bit of a change from the 90's when it could cost 20k to insure haha

Same as this one casp, Flint grey metallic, I will get better pictures of the car but it's tucked away for now.
