I'm not sure yet on the '17 - I opened the box xmas day and was mortified! It's massive! - I think I will go get a 'Sally B fix' at Flying Legends this year and see if that makes me brave enough - :(

Hi Morris, you should do it with a "build diary" if your last diary is anything to go by I for one would be following it !

The B-17 kit is a big beast with lots of parts but you shouldn't be afraid it is no more complex than the kits you have already done. It is just like those kits but just all in one box.

When you analyse just how it goes together it is a series of smaller kits that go together to make a big one.

If you wish we can work together on our kits and feed information between each other. I am going to get Eduards etched detail sets for the kit and metal MG barrels.

You should watch Memphis Belle. That used Sally B.

Thx all for comments - after performing xmas eve santa duties, I watched MB late that night (sad I know!) - SD, sounds good on the build cooperation - might be awhile yet though, as I have an aftermarket goodie list too to fill :) - and a return to Duxford for inspiration- mind you, every time I go I want build everything, - so the stash grows and grows .... :laughing-rolling:

Brilliant work on your Peashooter, well done

I love Duxford and I must try and visit there again some time. It's not too far from me

I have been discussing an option with HKM's boss to improve the big bomber kits with all the internal detail. If he decides to do a test then my build could be very different.

Certainly Eduards' Big Ed sets for the E/F will be ending up in the box and also Master Models' barrel set too. There are other items as well but as you are very probably aware these are fabulous kits and stunning builds can be done!

Their next release is going to be the Lancaster and it is going to be a cracker and sell quickly. Probably one of the most anticipated aircraft releases for some time. Take my advice and negotiate now with SWMBO!

There will be two more that I know of. A Dambuster version and the special for the Grandslam bomb (which could also carry the smaller tallboy).

I think there will be a separate ordnance set which modellers can get to make up all the different loads and ordnance the Lancaster could carry. There may be a bulged door version of the Lancaster too!

I will have one of each arriving in Gods Own Country!! :D

That Lancaster will be awesome! I cant wait - (I must talk my SWMBO standing with me in front of Sally B, into another Flying Legends trip and the HK Lanc. - grovelling time!)

Anyway, Peashooter is now finished for sure and on the shelf - I thought the antenna wire was too thick for scale, so I used/replaced with smaller stuff - Pulled the dorsal one down too far - but left it be anyway.... :)
