Aerobase Hindenburg

I posted in the previews about this upcoming kit. Well, my copy landed yesterday.

It certainly lives up to expectations. Superb quality, as we know Aerobase always gives.

Box art.

You get two large sheets of photo etch. Nickel silver, and the etching is absolutely perfect.

A nice portrait of von Zepplin, the designer of the aircraft.

Some close ups of the parts.

Mainly pictorial instructions, but with some text in Japanese and English. Easy to understand and follow.

finally, some small white metal castings for the engine pods and cockpit.

The attention to detail is amazing. The fret attachments are very small, and all indicated by a half etched triangle to make finding them easy.

The first job is to remove the parts from the centre of the frame.

The attachments between the frame and fret are S shaped to allow some movement. The outer fret stays in place to make handling easier. This is brilliantly engineered.

Start with the rear frame. Held in with 2 tabs bent over. No glue yet.

The ladders form the tabs on the front frame.

To be continued......
Cheers

Hi Mark :) could you do the "OXO" thing ? Have you seen the "Hindenburg" film ? it takes you through the entire ship as a drama and the "supposed" sabotage ? it contains a lot of "real" footage" I'm going to see if it is available on DVD ?
