Have to say the 1/32 Matchbox Puma sa 330 kit isn't really that bad for its age. The detail of the rivets and other bits is really good, its just a shame that no one has ever done a aftermarket set of it.

Revell did buy Matchbox moulds for this kit when Matchbox closed, and they made a couple of other examples one of which I might look at as I've managed to get a different set of decals for this model.

But in order to use them I would need to scratch build new front air intakes and a complete build of the front nose cone unit which looks simple as its just squares and pipes and two aerials.

But I'm not 100% sure at the moment as it would be a complete black with a tiger on the rear as from the Tiger meet from XW224 of 230 Squadron, RIAT 1991.

Loving all the detail on this Ian. You must be putting a lot of researching the project, and it's certainly paying off!
Cheers

Hi N1, I think I need to stop buying old kits between this and the Harrier I've never done so much scratch building.

Got to the point I need to build some standard kits just to restock my spares box :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

Cheers Mark, I've downloaded so many photos my iPad ran out of space :( so had to transfer them to my other tablet. I managed to find a company that repairs some of the engine parts and they very kindly sent me photos. :)

Cheers Steve. It's been fun trying to workout how to make the bits I wanted. Still have to work on fire wall, rotor unit, rotor head, stow the blades and rear tail unit. But I can't put the cockpit in until I've worked all that out in case I need to add weights to counteract the blades. I have designed and printed new rotor blade fixtures where the blades join the head unit but still building up the nerve to cut the blades as once cut no going back
