As I mentioned in an earlier post over the exterior colours, I am seriously considering repainting the exterior to 81/82/76. There is overwhelming evidence that none of the aircraft produced had the 74/75/76 scheme.

I would like to hear members thoughts.

Too much new stuff coming from ZM for which I want to get multiple kits Steve! :D

Their up and coming Japanese Nick and HS 129 will be in two variant kits each with multiple armament options. That's at least 6 kits and a major money outlay! AllI hope is that they drop the opaque style exterior. That alone is worth an email to the old man!

The exterior repaint is already underway with the Base coat done. The coat is RLM 82 Hellgrun. Over that will go a hard edge splinter pattern of RLM 81 brown-violet.

I have turned my attention to the engines as they are the only things left to do apart from the undercart and minor stuff. The front engine will go on last as I need to maybe add some more weight to make it sit on all three wheels properly. Sometimes you have to make adjustments and have to plan for it. It won't mess up the build, I'm just altering the sequence from the book!

The basic engines are built, but for some reason the liquid metal is dropping out of the mount holes. I used nearly a full bottle of the super thin superglue to bind it all together in there :angry-banghead: will have to think outside the box for priming and painting that!

More soon!

Another update to this build.

I am aiming to have this done just in time to start my 12 days of Christmas build. If not, it can wait until that's done!

This post I finish off the fuselage interior and put everything together!

So, the cannon are painted as well as the front firewall and fixed in place. Metal barrels replace the kit ones.

Now we start with the last bit of the fuselage interior, the rear engine. First we put the exhausts into the holders

Image

Now we start building up the engine and painting all the pipework etc. The main engine bits are painted with AK Black-blue. I then detail paint the main engine according to source pictures on the internet.

Now we start building it up with the pipework etc, painting as we go with a brush!

Now we test fit into the fuselage adding everything

Finally put everything together into the fuselage and button it up!

Second cockpit cover put on and rudders plus horizontal stabilisers.

That's all for this post. It is a great leap forwards and the correct base colour is now on.... needs some tidying up though! Next time we add the wings, some other parts and see if it will balance on 3 legs when the front engine is test fitted!
