The body is clear coated now. Seems to have gone OK. Not perfect, but close enough as long as you stand well back, and squint, in the rain......
To be honest, this is so small, it's hard work to get everything perfect. Now I need to add some glazing and fiddly bits to the main body, and then I can fit that, and carry on with other fiddly bits.......

The main part of the body has now had the rear quarter lights fitted and the rear screen. It's now dry fitted to the chassis, although it was a bit fiddly to get on, so I'm not inclined to take it off again. I can just run some superglue into the joins.

However, it would be prudent to test fit all the other body parts and front chassis first. Don't take anything for granted with these kits!!

Front subframe test fitted. It fitted almost first time :o

I had originally planned on fitting this, painting the front subframe, and then adding all the front suspension, pipework, etc. However, that's just not going to work. This frame clamps the front suspension, and there are to many small details buried in the framework, so I'll have to follow the instructions. Sometimes they are right!!

One casualty fitting the body. The exhaust manifold came off when I tried to straighten the silencer. IT's being a right paint to try to get back!!!
The rear body will have to be displayed separately as I can't get it to fit properly without major surgery. The end of the gearbox stops the bodywork sitting down properly. I thought I'd tested that and it was OK. Something must have moved. Anyway, I'd planned on leaving the rear body and bonnet separate as I didn't want to hide all the work that they covered.

would be a shame to cover up all your excellent work Mark and would look great with the rear body and bonnet removed. Will you be doing a diorama :)

Thank Casper, I wasn't planning on doing a diorama. Just displaying it, perhaps on a plinth.

Finally got the rear suspension fitted, complete with brake callipers. Before anybody asks, no I'm not going to add the brake lines. Too darned small, and can't be seen on the finished model anyway!

The brake discs are white metal, painted with Xtreme Metal chrome over a black undercoat, and the hubs touched in with matt aluminium. Not they they can been seen either.

It's a couple of misc details to add, then on to the front subframe. That looks fun :?
