I tried the Mig chipping fluid through the airbrush but it just bubbled on the surface so I used a brush, It still bubbles on the surface but dries clear even though the paint its on top of is also Mig  Anyway after it had dried I added the Red couple of light coats then a couple more a few minutes later. Left that to dry for a couple of hours and went in with a wet brush, it seemed to take forever for the paint to start chipping at first but as soon as started moving it was coming away easy. The only trouble with the red brown undercoat it was very difficult to see any change but the fuel tank and radiator came out a treat. After it was dry I played about a little and got to this stage. few more bits to pick out with a brush and then a clear coat.

thanks guys :)
I decided to do salt chipping on the mudguards and bonnet but instead of using water I brushed on chipping fluid before adding the salt. It worked ok but water would have done but it did come off a little easier. The engine had some work to get the base red brown to show through but the colour match was too close to the massey Red so I added a few with a brush and added a little tamiya weathering master oil stain and silver before all the parts had a couple of thin coats of Klear, the pick shows the rear wheels fixed in place now but the front wheels, mudguards and engine cover are dry fits :)
While thats drying I can do the same to the remaining parts like the steering, brakes and foot peddles.

Tamiya Weathering masters lightly rubbed on the high spots and graphite powder helps bring out the detail but its easy to over do it.
I started adding the foot/brake peddles and tried a little Mig engine grime but again you have to be selective otherwise is can look overdone so that will do for now, I will be using some pigments later in the build but I wanted to get the vehicles to a point where I can carry on with a small diorama. Its going to be a small diorama roughly about 12"x9" and at the moment I haven't decided on composition and if I will be using the Scaffolding plank end I made up a couple of weeks ago, at first I thought it was a little cumbersome and a bit high but In my minds eye it could work so will have a closer look at that later today (wow :o Saturday already)

Thanks Mark, gotta watch I don't overdo it. The MIG chipping fluid is good but takes a bit of rubbing to get it started then it comes away easy so you have to be careful .The salt method gives a better result on the engine cover and guards and is easier to work.

Back to the Tractor :)
I added some 0.6 nuts and bolts to the  dunno what its called  rear assembly after drilling 0.5 holes, the 0.6 bolts cut a thread so this held them in place along with the 0.6 hex head nuts then a tiny spot of superglue. I also drilled out the front axle assembly and replaced the cut off bolt heads with 1mm nuts, bolts and washers and two 12BA nuts. Off to see if the mrs has an old silver chain she doesn't want

Thanks guys :)
started to assemble the rea of the tractor and found that because I added two 12BA nuts to the ends (arrows) the posts were too short :angry-banghead:
So after cutting them off I added small bits of styrene and drilled them out so the 12BA bolts cut down would thread into the hole, its much better now and stronger. Image
