Some of the lighter mig damp earth splashes has been added to the high points and edges of the tracks and some engine oil added just bellow where the VW engine sits. It's difficult to make out the variation in colour from the photo but it looks better to the naked eye. I will be adding some muddy water in the deep areas of the tracks and some chicken footprints :animals-chickencatch:

The wet and dry mud is a good move, nice contrast - looking forward to the puddles ....

Thanks Roy :) busy making the seats and bits and bobs to throw in the back of the van.

I didn't use the Aqua magic for the puddles just yet Morris but instead added some neat MIG wet ground splashes to the deeper areas and the wet look really makes the mud pop. I stained the Pallet with diluted Vallejo new wood and then while wet added a thinned wash of black to pick out the wood grain.
I made a start on the seats for the VW but ended up cutting my finger on the scalpel blade :shifty:  so more on those later. I also added a fallen tree to the left corner and will be putting a few Autumn leaves here and there for interest. The roof has has some more work, the centre roof support has been glued in place and another roof sheet added to the front.

Thanks for the K Roy :)
the seats were tricky to cut up with two index fingers out of action but I got there in the end. You probably won't be able to see much of them when finished so they don't have to be perfect, just dirty ripped and wet :)
Dry Fit......or should I say wet fit

Thanks guys, its easy. You just cut them, paint them nice then ruff them up :laughing-rolling: Think they look the part so these can now be fixed then I can also fix in place the front window section after the dash has had a final touch up.

Little more done :)
I added some maple leaves punched from real Autumn leaves to some more of the twigs taken from an old conifer root some time ago.
Not sure about the greener ones but it really adds interest with a few scattered here and there.
I used a tooth pick and some matt PVA glue.

Made a start on some Traffic signs. Not sure how these are going to turn out and hope they look to scale.
I printed out some signs and reduced the size down till I got them approximately the right scale then printed a few on a sheet of Clear water slide decal paper, the next day I gave the sheet a coat of clear acrylic and let that dry. The metal signs were cut from a piece of 1mm styrene and need primer before a coat of off white on one side.
currently looking for a pole to put them on
