Have to agree Les. The closest they came was the Honda RC166, which is one of the best kits they've produced.

Thanks Mark :)
I'm thinking of painting down to the Red instead of fading the blue into clear, there is a small red decal to add where the two cowling parts meet.
I didn't know Tamiya only did Japanese bikes

On closer inspection you can see a raised line either side of the two headlight apertures. I'm unsure if these are supposed to be there or need sanding back because there are some raised lines were the decals sit to help with positioning I think:think:
The cowl is very thin and sharp around all edges so will also need a light wet sanding and then I can add another coat of primer.
I have also noticed that two of the indicator clear parts are missing :angry-banghead: The two in the photo had a coat of Tamiya clear orange.

Shame about the missing clear parts, not sure on whether Tamiya supply spare parts, if not could you fashion some from a piece of clear sprue?

It might be worth a message to Tamiya's importer.
Cheers

I had them at the start of build and the sprue photo shows all four clearly  oh well i will see if I can make some out of clear sprue.

thanks for the tip Mark :)

the cowling was lightly sanded and re-primed and some detail work done on the bike.
I have a few more pipes and wires to add and the foot rests to paint later, also the exhaust pipes needs a light sanding and may need small amounts of filler.

I ran out of vallejo white so I used some thinned Humbrol flat white and clear coated the lower part ready for the decals.
The front decal is an odd shape and curves into a dip in the cowling so wish me luck :shifty:
Another concern is where the two decals meet along the edge  will i get some white showing through between them if the join isn't perfect

After some careful masking using cling film and a sponge the Mediterranean dark blue was added to the right side only.
The small white strip is where the red decal goes.
