My next build...Airfix 1:48 Quad Bike.

Well after my successful Tamiya build I have decided on my next little build. And this one will include the use of paints. :o So be gentle.

So to start a quick review out of the box.

First up :

This kit is part of Airfix range of Operation Herrick Collection. I have the Merlin, the Lynx, the BAE Warrior and now this the quad bike. Im hoping to add to this with the Coyote and jackal and the snatch land rover set.

Inside the box we have three sprues. The kit includes two quads and trailors and some figures

All sprues are finely moulded, with no flash and are quite detailed.

We also have have a instructions and a colour call out document

I do have the colours for this, but the brown I have maybe darker. But I think it will look good. I'm going to use this kit as its not to expensive if I mess up with the paint. All comments and tips welcome. As I am at a slight disadvantage when it comes to painting.

Looking forward to this one Chill :D

I wouldn't get too hung up on the colours. Your eyes (well, the brain really) plays all sorts of tricks anyway. Just try setting a digital camera to daylight colour balance, then take photos with an incandescent light bulb (if you've still got any !) and a fluorescent tube. Looks either orange or greenish on the picture, which Is what your eyes are really seeing, but the brain makes it look right. Oh, and paints fade in the sun.....
Cheers
