Yes. That's the problem with 'wingy' stuff.

1/8 cars are bad enough but at least they only have length as an issue to contend with.
When these things start sprouting wings, display space is a real problem.

I'm kind of hoping Thunderbird 2 will reach the UK at some time but that will be the same. Where to put it?

I've got first two free issues today along with the free coasters :o :D

I must say, I was only going to go for the test run and then I was going to walk away from this build. I think I might be drawn into subscribing to it by the dark side :D ;)

If there promotion bumph is anything to go by and what we received so far, it looks like lessons have be learnt with regards to the Millennium Falcon. All parts are nicely pre-painted and weathered. Unless at a later date you are told to glue the parts together, it looks like you only just have to push everything together, so everything can be taken apart for servicing the parts :D

The model is based on the film replica, I believe that the original film had made several X wings made in several scales, but it's not clear if this is the same scale as one of the original movie prop.

The only down side, is that I would like to see a Luke Skywalker figure to sit inside the cockpit :D

Is this now live?

If so is it subscription only or available from newsagents?

It's just a test run at the moment. Available in some regions and subscription only. Not currently being charge for the test run. I presume it will be just the usual up to 4 issues only

i agree, it seems so empty without a Luke Skywalker figure. it would make a huge difference i think

Getting a figure for the cockpit is going to be easy with plenty of 3.75 figures around and I'm sure that someone will do one on Shapeways

I've already ordered my figure for if when the build comes out

Issue 3 & 4 arrived today with the usual letter saying due to unforeseen circumstances that the subscription has come to an end.

Manage to complete the R2, The battery box takes AAA batteries not AA as mentioned in the mag. The R2 lit up like Blackpool illumination, so I took him apart and lined the inside with some black electrical tape to stop all the light seepage.

The X-Wing laser gun looks cool lit up, could do with a black tube inside to mask out any light seepage, something that I will do when I do the proper build

The metal cockpit frame was made up, I don't know if this is how it supposed to all fit together

My guess would be that it will come towards the end of the R2D2 series.
Cheers

Sounds like your R2 has too much to drink as he's legless :laughing-rolling:

Joking aside, I hope you get a replacement issue

I should imagine that this will be released Mid January next year, with TV adverts shown end of December this year
