motor power cables.

The Bismarck has her own forum which is very quiet now. Here's a little section for anybody on this forum who is still building it

motor power cables.

Hi every one - I am the new kid on the block here.

I am building the Bismark model from Hatchette and have got to part 21.
Being 80 I hope that I shall get it finished before I pop my clogs, bearing
in mind there are 146 parts apparently so for me 125 to go and at four a
month that should be in ten months or so time which will be May 2020.
Not a cheap model, at £8.99 each week that works out at approx £1,312.
Oh yes I realise that there is the magazine to read included.

I was getting on well with it when suddenly I found a problem with the
small motors which drive the guns and anchor capstans. Guess what
the red and blacl wires held onto the rear of the motors with what appears to be
a wax compound, fell off both the anchor raising motor and the raising
the gun elevation motor. No problem I though a spot of solder will fix that.
No it did'nt so try a tiny spot of super glue, Still no luck, in fact its bug--ered up
both motors.

Be warned this might happen to you. Does anyone know where I can get two
replacement motors please? They were included in parts 2 and 16, now both sold out.
Yes more will come when we get to install the other guns which will need them.
etc. but that is no help in my present predicament eh?

Apart from that, no other major prob at the mo and best of luck with yours.

Welcome to the forum Fred. I've moved this post to the Bismark section where it sits better.

I'd suggest either contacting customer services if you subscribe, or your newsagent and complaining that the wires fell off, and requesting a replacement issue.
Alternatively, Ebay may have some issues for sale.
Cheers
Mark
