May I present you Drum Major Goodman of the 7th Middlesex (London Scottish) Volunteer Rifle Corps, in 1897.
The man was a character: he stood six feet four, weighed in at 22 stone and required only the seating accommodation of three ordinary men!!!



The picture displays correctly, apparently.
Mark, I believe posting piccies on this forum shouldn't extend 800 pixels in width. Suggest you resize your boat and put it back.

Mark, how on earth do you do it, where's the trick? Can't figure out how you manage to post piccies with a BBCode saying: [attachment] ... [/attachment]
while they'd be coming with a: [img]...[/img]

Only some parts were modified: the shield, sword, pike and helmet.

Hmmm... There's indeed a problem there...
My landscape pic doesn't show the edges of the tree trunks on the right.
But at least, it's not scrolling!

Must be a disabling code somewhere that do not allow showing piccies wider than 600 pixels.
Was it the same case for your Bismarck, Eric?

Also, noted one more topic to be added in your "Think to do" list, boss:
the pages only allow to show up to 10 posts per page while the "Build the Bismarck" displays 15 posts each.
In no time we'll be over flooded!

Just noticed that if my window is extended to almost its limits, the landscape picture resizes itself and display in full.

One problem solved, phew!

Is the [img} function the only way of adding pictures ? is there a way whereby images can be directly uploaded from our computers ? the only problem with the former is that should the donor link go down it sometimes erases all images as the re-boot can scramble them,is there a way whereby images can be pasted directly.

I'm afraid it is. To my knowledge, there's no other way around to upload pictures...

You can upload images directly. Just below the Save - Preview - Submit buttons there are some options, and there is a tab marked upload attachements. Click on that and you can upload an image file. Then it gives you the option of inserting it into the post. Be aware that you can only upload small images. I've set low limits to preserve my limited web space !

I have uploaded pics from photobucket to here with no problem. see viewtopic.php?f=37&t=31
I use a very simple program called Pixresizer to reduce my camera pics before uploading them to photobucket. I use the 30% option.
