Uploading photos via iPad and Photobucket

Postby Paul » Fri Feb 26, 2016 1:41 pm

Hi All,
As a few of you may know, my PC has died! :(
Casp is trying to help me upload pics using an iPad and Photobucket direct to the forum as I used to be able to do via the PC.
I've started this thread now,so I can test things when I can work some more of it out .....

I've still not worked out the crop feature on the Photobucket app, as it doesn't seen to be applying.

In the interim, this is a pic I took the other day

I have problems with all the editing functions in photobucket. They say it's because I block ads on their website, but when you get bombarded with ads at the rate they do on their site (357 on one visit is my personal record) I feel I have every right.

Even when I've paused ad blocking, it can still take minutes (hours :angry-banghead: ) to save the edited picture, even if it's something as simple as a crop and it frequently doesn't save the edit properly. They keep on trying to get me to upgrade my subscription to a paying version, but I have no faith that it's going to be any better.

I've given up editing in photobucket now. For something simple, I use the editing functions in Windows live photo gallery. More complex stuff goes in Photoshop elements. Once done, I upload to photobucket.

I'm sure there's a reasonably good editing app for the iPad out there. I'd take a look around.

When I registered about a year ago I got 1tb of free space or you can "go pro" for $5.99 a month or $49.99 per annum ad free.
the free version is pretty good and you really don't notice the adverts, some of the members albums for lego and modelling are really good with some great photos.

Thanks Casper. I was getting confused with Imageshack which seemed to have started charging a year or so ago.

Never tried image shack before Mark.
flickr is handy for photo searches. I use it for Honda MP44 photos or Lego custom build photos but you can search for pretty much anything. They have lots of pro members as they call them that take amazing photographs.
Another one of my favourites :)

Hi All,
Many thanks for the information. :)
I think I might be getting there, so I'll do another test in a bit.

Firstly, please ignore the fact that the pic is slightly out of focus

I've worked out that I can crop the pics on the iPad before uploading to Photobucket.

I still don't know how to resize the overall pic file size though

Well, I didn’t quite sort all this out, but the good news is that I’ve now rebuilt my PC. :D

All a rather distraction from modelling though!!!! :angry-banghead:

I needed to when talking to Microsoft and being cut off a total of 10 times by their off-shore call centre!!!!! :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:

The rest with a new hard drive etc. was very easy. :D
