Test Imgur images

Postby royjess » Tue Jun 27, 2017 7:27 am

I've just been introduce to imgur images as a photo hosting site. Another alternative to photobucket and google images.

https://imgur.com/

I had to resize this one above to the one below

To automatically resize photos and post (amusing that you have signed up to imgur and are on the imgur web page)

1. Scroll over user name
2. On the drop down list, click on the word "images"
3. Click on drop bar for auto resize
4. Select 640x480 (message boards)
5. Click add images
6. Drag all images onto upload screen

To get url, click on photo and then copy the "BBcode(Forums)"
and then paste the url BBcode on here without having to put in the IMG's

NB. the auto resize is not permanent, so you will need to follow all the instructions 1 to 6 above each time you upload pics, otherwise your photos may be too big for the forum

As usual, my instructions are as from working using my laptop, other handheld devices like tablets and smart phones might need a different set of instructions

They are some old pics that I had floating around on my laptop to test out Imgur. The parrot is Jessica's Cockatoo named Gizzy It's unusual for a parrot to take to more than one person, they usually bond with just the one person and bites everyone else, but even though Gizzy has bonded with Jess, he does have a soft spot for me. You can also just make out Cheeky, Jessica's Cockatiel just under my arm in the back ground

I never knew that. As an aside, there used to be a pet shop near Camberley which sold a lot of birds. They would open the cages and give the birds free run of the shop. I was better than going to the zoo, and Laura loved it. There was one big blue macaw called Merlin. One time he hopped onto my hand and was really enjoying being stroked. Didn't want to be put down, and expressed his displeasure by biting me ! Ungrateful so-and-so !! He was a beautiful bird though.

You will need to follow my instructions as posted above

I re-post them for you here (as usual, instructions are for use with a laptop and may differ for tablet/smartphones)

The images were uploaded with the default settings and are far too large for the forum. However, on the second post I selected supersized thumbnails and downloaded the links, and it seemed to work fine.
