Cosmics Build

Postby Cosmic » Sat Aug 08, 2015 10:33 pm

Evening everyone,

As I mentioned earlier on my introduction post, I used to be a part of the Build the Bismarck forum and so have found myself on here. I don't want to bore you all with past photos of the build, there's nothing new there really. But I will start this thread with this evenings work on the hull paintjob...

Since it's been 5 years since I last worked on this, I couldn't find the same grey I used last time so had to start again. Gave the hull a good sanding and smoothing again (the little brass porthole things were a (I must not use sligthly naughty words) nightmare!)

Couldn't find a good spray can of Red either, so had to resort to the Airbrush.

Looking good!

Had a little bit of bleeding sadly, but nothing I can't fix with some patience.

It feels really good to get back into this project and now I just want to finish it. I've decided that since I don't actually have any room at home to display it, I may go down to my old school and ask my old History teacher if they would like to put it on display in one of the classrooms.

Thanks, Casper.

I'd like to think they'd take it, I would need to ask one of the Tech Teachers to make a case for it but I got on well in both departments so they could do it.

Thank you Steve.

Just thought I'd share a quick update of how the painting is going, it's basically finished! :D

She's looking quite nice if I do say so myself. The masking tape has unfortunately pulled off a little of the filling compound on the grey portions of the hull, so I need to do some fixing but soon it'll be on to the detailing and finishing!

You are right Cosmic; he´s looking quite nice.

Cheers Builder. What are you struggling with? I found the indented sides to be the hardest!

Daniel,
What am I struggling with?
Of course the indented sides, and fitting the 4 plastic bow and heck pieces.
And I´m trying to change the inlets, because I have the books of Josef Kaiser with the completely different inlets.
