On it's way....

Finally on the way to me is this....

Image

Hobbyboss' 1/18 Huey.

Not sure if it is anything like the 1/18 Me 262 currently under last finishing stages, and I am tempted once again to put everything aside to build and get this out of the way but there is one small niggle at the back of my mind. The two windows in the roof above the pilots are green and I have to paint them.

I would normally use Tamiya clear green and a brush, but does anyone have something better that could give a green glass finish?

Also to be with me in a few weeks is the second Tamiya Zero:

For tinted glass I tint some gloss clear with whatever colour I want, then airbrush the glass.
Cheers

Awesome on the Zero - best there is - I have an old 1/24 Huey I might break out one day - What Mark said is good - another way I do it (tint clear parts) is leave them on their sprues (cut back the sprue to just enough to handle with tweezers) - mix a tub big enough of WB gloss and Tamiya clear green and dip it - set aside to dry on the sprues... It's mainly coz I'm useless with an airbrush and don't own one....... maybe one day...

Sorry James for the misleading initials, water based clear gloss - with a Tamiya clear green - same thing Mark says it's just I dip instead of spray....I mix a minute bit of soap too just to break the water surface tension when you dip the piece ....

Apologies :?
