The Rarest, Coolest model you've ever seen... or not seen!

Postby cmr1991 » Sat Jun 09, 2018 11:57 pm

Hi Folks,

Just thought I would ask and start a little chitter chatter, whats the Rarest, coolest and most expensive model youve ever seen.. or not seen?!

I pretty much base my collection on hard to find things and am looking for some inspiration.

Hmmmm..... the list is long. I'd have to say that the Scale Motorsport Porsche 935 transit together with the Tamiya 1/12 base Martini Porsche has got to be up there.
Verlinden did some amazing kits, getting rare now. The 1/16 88mm Flak must be up in the rather rare and quite desirable bracket.
Cheers

One of the rarest kits I ever had was the Kitmasters Fireball XL5 that you could get from Lyons Maid Ice cream. I had one in the 60s ( Im 67 years old ) and now its extremely rare and fetches hundreds of pounds!

How about some of the early Tamiya wooden models. I've seen them in the Tamiya museum, mainly tanks and warships I think. I've seen them in the Tamiya museum, and did once see one come up on Ebay.

Of course, there is the Airfix Ferguson tractor. Iconic, come up on eBay now and again, but I've never seen a mint one for sale.

I remember seeing a WW1 British Heavy Tank made all out of metal at a huge scale 1:6 scale. That was really cool. Some heavy civil engineering needed to put that together!
