12 days of Christmas build

Postby snapdragon » Sat Dec 07, 2019 9:14 pm

It is getting towards that time of the year again.

Not sure if there is a crimble competition this year, but anyone wishing to join in may use those rules too.

In essence, any subject, any scale, any add-ons. Starting Boxing Day you have 12 days to start, build and finish.

Christmas competition rules if you wish but otherwise choose your kit carefully.

Shame really! Got hold of a Das Werk 1/35 kit which is under £20 retail!

Anyone joining in for this?

Oh! If you have a complete Partwork in a box and you think you can build it up in 12 days.... That qualifies as well!! :D

Really it is the choice of kit for this and it is a challenge really.

Starting Boxing Day until the 6th January is the time frame. I usually find that an arty piece or something not technically challenging is the way to go.

I too am not a fast builder but I can manage this and it is a bit of fun!

This will be my 12 days of Christmas build this year. Should be able to do this in 12 days using decals instead of masks.

Due to getting a very severe chest infection for which the antibiotic penicillin tablets are more the size of ladies sanitary appliances I have cancelled the 12 day build.

I am just to ill to be able to focus at this moment in time and the word from the medics is rest, relax, sleep, hot drinks and stick to the meds!

I should be back on duty in a week or so and will log the build as a normal one. The Treibflugel is a simple build and shouldn't take too long. I had just photographed the kit and was beginning to look at it and do a dry fit of parts when I just more or less went downhill. A morning spent in A&E with a chest x-ray has sorted it out. I thought it was my heart playing up with the pain in my chest! So glad it is much simpler. I was checked for flu and pneumonia and a small sample party was held.

Good job we Yorkshire folk are as tough as nails!

The Doctor at the hospital has given me a weeks supply of Penicillin. 1 tablet 3 times a day.

I am already feeling better but the tablets are horse size! in fact the horse said "Oh, Hell, NO!"

No alcohol until the course is finished. Judging by the dosage and the tablet size my chest infection must have been brewing for a while. The X-ray must have shown whatever up clearly and I can read a book by my own light!

The only real problem is that these tablets have given me the runs!
