snaps update, 2020

Postby snapdragon » Fri Jan 03, 2020 11:04 pm

My chest infection I do believe is defeated by the elephant sized penicillin tablets issued at the hospital and I feel much improved.

The Horse is looking very relived that no large tablets ended up in the feed bucket!

I still have a cough and a cold going through me, but once the Penicillin has left my system then it is back to the age old cold cure.... Weapons Grade Rum. 57% proof, double measure neat. I have enough of my normal medication for my heart etc floating about my body to cope, and the idea is to turn my blood stream into an environment where viruses can't exist for a night. There will be a recovery period of which I could be very grumpy and any posts unpredictable and so advance apologies for that.

I am sorry that there was no 12 day build this Christmas and New Year, but I was just to ill to be able to do it with the side effects of the Penicillin causing rushed frequent trips to the toilet and the door will be replaced soon as the teeth and scratch marks have almost left holes! Now I did start the build and shortly I will be able to continue so look out for a "quick" build as my first 2020 subject hits the forum some point next week!

I have several building adventures already planned... sort of, and I do want to visit eastern Europe this year to meet a special lady! This is where a considerable amount of my meagre income will be going as the specialist insurance I need is £250 on its own plus new passport, flight and hotel.

We will see what happens.

James

Good to see you match fit again Snapdragons. Like the look of the Panther very nice . Trip to see your honey sounds good ,ones own passport ran out about fifteen years ago and cost to renew was prohibitive (stamps collected in the old ones and now wings clipped ) :(

Glad your feeling better James, hope your fully virus free soon. That 57% Rum will help, medicinal of course ;) :)
sounds like you have a great trip planned :)
My Granddaughter had chicken pox a week before Christmas, thankfully she recovered and was free from it by Christmas Eve. My daughter had it years ago and passed it on to me but mine turned out to be shingles, horrible.

Glad you’re on the mend James. Good luck with your travels.

Don’t talk to me about passports though. My last two were renewed early because I filled them up. Mainly work travel, before you get jealous! I wish the passport office did a loyalty card!!!
Cheers

During my service career and posted to protection duties I was very frequently the advance guard to state visits overseas. I used to get through 1 passport every 8 months with stamps etc. You always travelled on your own passport, but the cost was taken up by the Palace travel service, as was the new passport cost, and a replacement was guaranteed 2 day service! What privilege!

Not Now! I have to wait along with the rest and pay! :angry-banghead:

you can renew your passport online for £75.50 which is cheaper than the standard amount!

I am looking forwards to boots on the ground a bit later in the year and a testing time on my bench build wise.

Thank you all for your most kind wishes for my health over the festive period.

Steve should, with SWMBO permission, splash out on a kit that will give him value for money and take a bit of time. Amusing Hobby have just released 2 new kits, a Panther and a Badger (WoT). Not overly expensive from my Chinese ebay supplier, but will be great builds!
