Part 23 & 24:

Another double episode again, as there was not a huge amount to do.
The Engine & Gearbox are shaping up nicely & give a much better insight on how large this model is going to be :o

Hi Jerry,
I'm not going to bother with a build diary for this (no mods)
But just a heads up when assembling at issue 29.
Pre-start and then remove a type "E" screw from the silver "rear upright lower holders" before you attempt to fit either the left or right rear diffuser.
This will make life easier when you have to screw through the brake unit.

I've already done a trial run with the part supplied issue 29 to identify mounting positions - looks like the rear wing will be a SG moment.

But overall it's taking shape - I just wish we had as much fore knowledge as we do on the DB5.

Hi Jerry & FB,

I think that there is advice on the official De Ag website, alternatively, I'm sure that Julian and others could help if you have any queries.

I hope the above helps :)

Part 25 to 28:

Impatience got the better of me this time, so I completed all 4 issues in one go
Oh well, only 3 weeks to wait

Is it just me, or did anyone else end up with quite a few black 'E' screws left - certainly a lot more than the usual 1 spare per issue?
Anyway, fairly straight forward, although I nearly had a bit of a gluing mishap - as the picture in the instructions is a little misleading on where the ABS glue needs applying on the tension rod diffuser.
It is a shame this delivery didn't include issue 29, then i could have completed the rear suspension :angry-banghead:

Hi Jerry,

Are the issues better ordered than the DB5 ones - re: how things fit together?

Hi Jerry
Strangely enough I appear to have a surfeit of Type E screws - and I know I haven't used the wrong screw type at any point.
Even when you receive issue 29 there are no instructions for the included part - we are are supposed to wait untill issue 30.
I winged it - but if I have jumped the gun I can always unscrew and remove the upper suspension arms.
I get my issues weekly from the local newsagent - which gives me something to look forward to inbetween DB5 monthly batchs.

Paul, yes so far, there seems to have been some logic to the parts, you do get everything in sections.
Unlike the DB5, where they seem to throow in the odd wierd one (roof panel, bonnet etc.)

Chris, glad it wasn't just me then :D I have been following the official build, which is always several weeks in front of me & what you have done so far looks spot-on

Hi Jerry,

Well you & Chris (FB) seem to be spot on with this :D :D

All a bit weird with the extra srews, but what the heck, better than being short with them ! :)

Part 29 to 32

Sorry I have not posted for a while, I have been pretty busy & just not had time to do anything with either build for weeks.
Now that I have, I completed all 4 issues again, otherwise I will still be behind. Now that the rear suspension is added to the gearbox, you start to get a better idea of the size of this thing - it is going to look awesome :o
I have also included a few photos of everything built so far, beside a complete 1:18 scale McLaren for reference

Looking good Jerry. Mind, I think you've got a tad too much camber dialed in on the front wheels :laughing-rolling:

Thanks Mark, though I am sure I followed the manufacturer recommendation, just like all the teams do :laughing-rolling:
