How to recreate windscreen “frit”

Postby cmr1991 » Sun Mar 03, 2019 2:55 am

Hi all,

I am stuck for ideas on how to recreate the little black dots that are around the outside of a windscreen/windows, also know as a frit.

Hand painting is out of the question and I think decals would look terrible

Any ideas?

What scale? As the dots are only 1mm, it’s probably too small to represent as individual dots.
A photo etched mask may work, but is a really expensive option. Perhaps just spraying a soft edge to a black border around the window?
Cheers

its 1/8 Scale so pretty big, but I think I prefer the soft black border instead of bodging some dots
