"Blueing" an exhaust

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the heated bluing effect on an exhaust?

I've finally started the GTR and want to blue the exhaust silencers

I used Tamiya Weathering set D. Item 87088

There are some videos on how to use it on Tamiya's web site http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/ ... .htm#d_set

I've seen some people air brush Windsor Newton inks to good effect too. Don't ask me which colours though, I've no idea when/where I saw it.
Cheers
